Still the One?

Ahmad Paige has been committed to Florida State for some time, however, he considers himself only a "soft commit". "It's really back and forth everyday," Paige said, ranked as the No. 7 wide receiver by Scout.com. "I'm still committed to Florida State, but I'd say that any of the schools in my top four have a good chance. I'm looking at Florida, Tennessee and USC and nobody is out of it."

Four-star wide receiver Ahmad Paige (6-2, 165, 4.4) from Sterlington (La.) plans to visit the Florida State officially this weekend (Jan. 12). "I like their tradition and they are rebuilding," Paige said. "I think they'll be back on top. I'm excited to see what their new offensive coordinator (Jimbo Fisher) does. I like the spread attack and coach Fisher is known for being a great offensive coach."

Paige already visited Tennessee on Oct. 21 and Florida on Nov. 11, however, he'll be visiting the Gators again unofficially next weekend (Jan. 19). "I'm going there with my parents," Paige said. "They wanted to check them out. They don't really have a favorite yet. They are wide open.

"Florida just won the national championship and that's really exciting," Paige said. "It was cool that they beat Ohio State. It really seemed like the offense was on fire. I love how many wide receivers touched the ball. They played really well and showed what they could do."

Paige was also really impressed with the USC offense and expects to visit the Trojans on Jan. 26. "I like the way they use their wide receivers," Paige said. "They pass the ball a lot and Dwayne Jarrett had a great year but he's going pro, so I think I could compete early there. I also like that they are a high-profile program. They have big players and big stars."

He says he won't make a final decision until Signing Day. "I just want to fit in and feel comfortable," Paige said. "I also want to play for a school that throws the ball."

Paige reports a 2.5 core GPA and a 19 ACT and 810 SAT. He's retaking his ACT in February.
