Hubert Anyiam (6-1, 178, 4.4) now says he favors Nebraska slightly over Oklahoma State and Arizona. The three-star wide receiver from Garland, Texas, says Nebraska has a 60% chance of signing him. Oklahoma State is No. 2, with Arizona basically out of contention.
“I visited Nebraska on Oct. 21,” Anyiam said. “I talked with coaches (Bill) Callahan and (Jay) Norvell (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks) about playing wide receiver. Coach Callahan said I might be playing my freshman year. He told me that I’m a good player and if I do everything right, he will play me. But, he said I needed ‘more meat on my bones’.
"But Coach Norvell said he likes my weight," he said. "He also wouldn’t mind me gaining some weight. They have an explosive offense. I really like how the receivers play. I have the agility, speed and hands to be playing in Lincoln. I feel comfortable there. The people are cool and everyone is positive. . There is no racism there.
“Oklahoma State’s visit will be this Saturday, Jan. 13,” Anyiam said. “Coach (Todd) Bradford (linebackers) actually came out to Texas and met my mom and dad. It was really nice that he came to visit me. He was telling me that they added more features to the stadium and field. I really like how they run their offense. They throw the ball a lot which means more of a passing game than running game.
“I will announce my commitment next week,” Anyiam said. “It will either be Monday or Tuesday for sure. After I get back from Oklahoma State, I will have a press conference at my school.”
There was a time when the Oklahoma Sooners led for Anyiam. But they lost interest. "Three weeks ago, Oklahoma said they'd get in contact with me," he said. "I haven't talked with them since."
