"It went real
good, real good. I had a lot of fun. This visit definitely gives me a lot to think
about," added Von Miller.Von's player
host was Antonio Turner.
"He was
real cool, real cool. Just read down to earth. All of their players were real
down to earth. They went out of their way to make us feel at home."
This
was Miller's first chance to see the Ole Miss campus, and he came away impressed.
"It
was everything I was expecting it to be. I heard they had a real clean campus,
and it is a very beautiful campus. I have to say it is the prettiest campus I
have seen yet. But mostly, I found out what Ole Miss is really about."
Winning
seemed to be the key message during the visit.
"Their football team
is a program that is on the rise. They will do anything to achieve their goal
and have a winning team. I can really see them winning big in the near future
over there. Coach Orgeron is determined to get back to that championship level."
The
highlight of the trip was when the recruits went through a game day simulation.
"The
Walk of Champions was awesome. We just walked through the Grove like they do on
game day. Even though nobody was there, you could feel how it would be like on
game day, with all of the support you get before the games. We watched the video
of game day in the Grove before we made our walk. I have never seen anything like
that. That was an awesome feeling. I got goose bumps"
Which position
did Miller attend for his film session?
"They put me with the defensive
ends. I mostly played end in high school, but I did play a little linebacker.
I feel more comfortable at end though."
The 6' 3", 212 pound
prospect out of Desoto was very high on the current Ole Miss players.
"I
just think I fit in real good with them. You can tell they are from different
states, but I am from a different state too. We were all like one big family."
How
did Coach Orgeron's meeting with Von Miller go?
"It went real good.
I love how intense he is. He would be fun to play for. He told me about his national
championships days at Southern Cal and Miami. He told me what it takes to get
there."
Did Coach Orgeron ask Von where Ole Miss stands with his program?
"Yes,
I told him I still have a lot to think about. Ole Miss is a good school, and I
am going to compare the two schools when I go on my visit to Texas A&M next
weekend."
While the Rebels made some headway with Miller; he still
remains committed to the Aggies.
"I am still committed to Texas A&M,
but if I sign with them and I ever have any trouble, I can transfer to Ole Miss."
Von
will also take in an official visit to Oklahoma (1/26) after he visits Texas A&M.
