Rashad Mason (WR, Nashville, TN) - The 6' 6", 210 pound top 100 national recruit did not arrive to Oxford until Saturday due to a scheduling conflict with a basketball game on Friday night, but that did not stop Mason from seeing what he needed to see at Ole Miss.
"Their campus, I did not know it looked like that. I fell in love with their campus," added
Rashad Mason
.
What stood out about Ole Miss' campus?
"It is just so beautiful, clean, and peaceful feeling. It had a different look to it than anywhere I have been. Like I said, I just fell in love with it the first time I stepped foot on their campus."
Did the visit go as good, better, or worse than what he was expecting.
"It was better than what I was expecting. I did not know too much about Ole Miss until I got there. I thought it was going to be a little town, but there were more people and more things to do than what I was expecting. And the campus, man, I did not know it was like that."
When asked what stood out the most during Mason's visit; it was simple.
"Their campus. Like I said, I have never seen anything like Ole Miss'. It is like what you see in the movies when they are showing that perfect down home campus."
How did Mason feel like he fit in with the players and coaches at Ole Miss?
"It was a lot more different that what I was expecting. I fit in like I do in Nashville. The whole environment was like Nashville. The players are read down to earth like they are at home. And the coaches, they made you feel at home."
Rashad had a chance to watch some film on Saturday at Ole Miss. What did he learn?
"They are going to use me like everybody else, at the X position."
How did Rashad's one on one meeting with Coach Orgeron go?
"It went great. We talked about playing time, and if I come to Ole Miss, I could make a change for the team."
Where do the Rebels now stand?
"Everybody is going to be even until my last visit, then I will make a decision. But for now, I am keeping an open mind."
Where does Mason go next?
"I am going to LSU next weekend, and I still have not decided on my last visit."
Now that Rashad has had a chance to visit Michigan, North Carolina, and Ole Miss; what did each school have over the other?
"Michigan's players probably stood out the most. North Carolina's coaches stood out the most, and Ole Miss' campus and environment stood out the most."
When Mason is taking his official visits; what is focusing on?
"I am looking at their environment, campus, coaches, players, and a good business program."
Which business program has impressed Mason the most so far?
"Michigan because they are rated the highest, but that does not really take anything away from North Carolina and Ole Miss . They have great programs too."
