Two-star cornerback Jamaine Olson (5-10.5, 165. 4.55), from Portland Jesuit (Ore.), said he would have committed to Stanford, but he wasn't accepted academically. "Admissions didn't let me in, so there's nothing really I could do," Olson said.
He says he was also led to believe he would received offers from UNLV and Oregon State, but both filled all their available spots. Instead, Olson will be visiting Montana on Jan. 26 and Hawaii on Feb. 2. Montana is his only scholarship offer, but he feels the Warriors will also offer.
"Hawaii hasn't really been recruiting me for a long time, but they seem very interested," Olson said. "I was supposed to visit them on Jan 19, but they didn't get my transcripts in time, so we rescheduled the trip.
"I really like Hawaii's coaching staff and it's a top 25 team every year," Olson said. "The environment is really nice and I know they have great coaches who know how to win.
"Montana is a really great division IAA program," Olson said. "They have great tradition and a winning history. They are just a great overall team.
"I plan to play it by ear. Another school may jump in the picture late, so you never know what can happen."
He reports a 3.5 core GPA and a 1590 SAT (new version).
