Randy Taylor worked as Scout.com's Director of NFL Experts as well as the Regional Manager for West Coast College Recruiting for Scout.com. Taylor is headed to the Big 10 as Minnesota's Director of Football Operations.
Randy Taylor had been working with Scout.com for several years before taking two positions with the company in the Spring. Taylor supervised the West Coast Regional Recruiting Rankings for College Recruiting, and he was the Director of NFL Experts for Scout.com.
Taylor came to Scout with an impressive résumé including being an All-Big 10 center at
Illinois
and Director of Football Operations/Recruiting Coordinator at
UCLA
.
It was his stint at Illinois that helped lead him to his new position of Director of Football Operations at the University of
Minnesota
. New Head Coach Tim Brewster was a two-time All-Big Ten Conference selection with the Illini.
"The main reason I took this job was Tim Brewster," said Taylor. "It's his energy and passion that make me believe that he will take Minnesota to the next level."
While Scout.com loses a valuable member of its team, Taylor's time spent with the company was valuable.
"You never want to lose a guy like Randy Taylor," said Scott Kennedy Director of Online Programming for Scout.com, "but we're very thankful that he believed enough in what we do to be a part of our team. His presence brought a former player and college coach to our ranks and heightened our awareness amongst fans and coaches all across the country. We will miss him, but are proud to have a member of our team hired to run operations for a major program like Minnesota."
Kennedy said that Scout.com will be working to replace Taylor immediately.
"I don't know that we can replace a guy like Randy with just one guy, so we may be looking at bringing in someone new and maybe elevating someone within our ranks that has done such a good job for us already."
