Two Visits Remain For Patin

Linebacker Earl Patin has two more official visits lined up. He will trip to Tuscaloosa this weekend and Coral Gables on the final visit weekend.

Earl Patin is one of the top linebacker prospects in the Southeast. Patin, 6-2 and 230 pounds, finished his senior year with 144 tackles and eight sacks. Patin, from Baton Rouge (La.) Southern Lab, will visit Alabama this weekend and Miami (2-2).

"I like the new coach at Alabama," said Patin. "Coach (Burton) Burns is new there and he was recruiting me while he was at Clemson so I feel real comfortable with him. I know that new coaching staff will turn things around at Alabama. They are going to be much better.

"I am also going to Miami. They were my team growing up and they are my team now. I like their defense and I like Coach (Randy) Shannon.

"I also like West Virginia and Tulane but I don't think I will be able to get a visit to those schools. I just don't know yet."

At this time, Miami has offered Patin a scholarship but Alabama has not. That could change this weekend. He has also visited Nebraska. Do the 'Canes have the edge?

"Right now I am open. I do not have a favorite."
