Kevin Bryant soaks in Ole Miss visit
Posted Jan 24, 2007
Kevin Bryant (OT, Lauderdale Lakes, FL) - Scout.com's #17 nationally rated offensive tackle took in an official visit to Ole Miss this past weekend.
How did the visit go?
"It was good," added the
Top 100 selection,
This was Bryant's first official visit; was the experience everything he had hoped it would be/better/or worse?
"It was what I expected. We went out and ate good. Their team is like a big family. They showed us around campus, which was picturesque. I enjoyed it."
Ole Miss QB,
, was Bryant's player host for the weekend.
"Brent is real cool. He showed me around, and I also got to hang out with some of the other Florida guys on their team, like
, and some of those cats. They said that is it is smaller than what we are use to in Florida but in a good way."
Was Bryant comfortbale with the environment at Ole Miss?
"Yea, you know, I really enjoyed it. I fit it in good with their environment. At first, it was a big change. I was expecting to be all of these cars everywhere, a big city like environment. It was kind of hard getting use to at first, but once I got adjusted, it was really cool. Oxford is still real lively even though it is small compared to Miami and all."
What stood out the most during Bryant's trip?
"I would have to say their academic center. They put in so much time with that facility. It is such an awesome facility. To know that they spent all of that time making it a state of an art facility just really shows me that it is not all about football over there. They really stressed getting your degree at Ole Miss, and they laid out the plan on how they would help you get your degree. I was really impressed with the academic side of things at Ole Miss."
Kevin had a chance to meet with Coach Orgeron before he left town.
"He explained to me that I would be a great addition to their offense line. He said he was going to stay on me all the way up until signing day, and we will see what happens on signing day. I know one thing, nobody has made me feel as wanted as they have."
Will that play a big role in his decision come signing day?
"I do not know. We will just have to wait and see (laugh). I want to keep everybody hanging."
Where does Ole Miss now stand in the
Atlanta Journal Constitution's
Southern 100's pecking order?
"I really do not have a number, but they are way up there."
The 6' 6", 375 pound lineman out of Boyd H. Anderson has two more visits lined up.
"I am going to SC this weekend and Louisville next."
Any inhome visits lined up?
"Coach Kehoe from Ole Miss is two minutes away."
