What looked like a last-minute coup for Arizona State ended up turning into a big day for Oregon State while leaving Nebraska empty-handed.
Compton (Calif.) Dominguez cornerback David Ross had given a verbal to Nebraska during the fall and in recent days, seemed to be leaning towards signing with Arizona State.
Neither the Huskers or the Sun Devils ended up with his signed LOI while Oregon State, which had reportedly received a commitment from him last month, ended up getting the fax that gives them one of the top corners in the West.
A four-star prospect, Ross has great size and is one of the best pure lock-down corners in California in the class of 2007. His commitment gives the Beavers their sixth 4-star prospect in this class and their third in the secondary alone, joining safeties Cameron Collins and Lance Mitchell.
