2008: Miami Southridge WR
Deshon Daniels was a huge reason for the success of Miami Southridge High in 2006. The senior running back was among the leading rushers in the area. However, he wasn't alone. Junior wide receiver Eric Adeyemi quietly put up a strong junior season as well. At 6-feet and 165 pounds, Adeyemi finished the season with 22 catches for 436 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 334 yards and one touchdown on just 29 carries. "I tore my hamstring the first year I was on varsity my sophomore year," Adeyemi said. "I wasn't able to show people what I could do. This past season, I thought I put up some pretty good games." The talented receiver, who also runs track at Southridge, is already getting lots of interest from colleges. "There are no offers yet but a lot of schools are on me," he said. "I like Florida State, UM, Rutgers, Illinois, and Central Florida. I like Florida State because they have a lot of tradition and I have a sister that goes to Florida A&M. UM is close to home and Randy Shannon seems like a good coach." Adeyemi, who carries a 2.5 overall GPA, talked about what he'll be looking for in a school. "I wanna go someplace where I feel comfortable around the players and coaches," he said. "And the education is important to me so I wanna go to a school that gives good support for that."
