SEC School First to Offer
"I received my first offer from Auburn," said Destin Hood from Mobile, (Ala.). "One of the coaches called my coach and told him they had an offer for me. He said they were sending it in the mail." "It's pretty cool. I am not an Auburn fan, but I think it's good they offered me. I will definitely consider them since they were the first school to offer." Hood is receiving interest from several schools, but he has three schools ahead of the pack. "The schools showing the most interest are Alabama, LSU and Florida State. I am not sure who is close to offering me, but they said they are coming to see me in the spring." "Right now my top three are Alabama, LSU and Florida State. Auburn and Florida are right behind them. I would have to say LSU is my overall favorite. Alabama and Florida State are a close second." LSU: "I went to a football game there when they played Alabama. They have a ton of fans, and the atmosphere is great. I really enjoyed the Tiger Walk, and the coaches greeted us really well." Alabama: "I like Alabama because when you go up there everything is in Crimson. The fans support the team really well." Florida State: "I knew coach Jimbo Fisher when he was at LSU. He is really nice. I think he would take care us of if we went to Florida State. It's a great program as well." Auburn: "I like them. I just haven't had a chance to really check them out yet." Florida: "Florida is about the same as Auburn. It seems like a fun school." Hood hauled in 25 receptions for 650 yards and 12 touchdowns during his junior campaign. He was selected All-Region for his performance. Hood is aware of his strengths and what he hopes to improve before his senior season. "I would say my strengths are my hands and my ability to go up in the air to catch the ball. My route running is one of my strengths as well," he said. "I would like to work on my lateral speed, my route running and my quickness from side-to-side." When asked the determining factors of his decision Hood replied, "I am really not sure what I will base my decision on. I would like to make my decision early. I want to be comfortable with the school I choose." Hood plans to attend Junior Day at Alabama and Florida State. Stay with Scout.com as we track the recruitment of Destin Hood.
