Hakeem Johnson will be one of the top prospects in the Jacksonville area in 2007…
Impressive South Florida QB
Chris Gordon completed 119-of-216 passes for 1,771 yards and 23 touchdowns, compared to just five interceptions. The talented Coral Gables High quarterback is excited about what's to come. "That was just a sampling of what I'm capable of," Gordon said. "We're losing some good receivers but I think I can do even better next year." Gordon, 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds, now faces the challenge of being a 5-9 quarterback prospect. He could play wide receiver in college. "I'm a quarterback first," he said. "But I'll play wherever a team needs me." The talented junior compares his game to a current pro. "I'm like Donovan McNabb," he said. "He's my favorite player and that's whose game I like to compare mine to." Gordon, who carries a 2.5 GPA, has not yet received any offers but several schools seem interested. "I'm interested in Florida, Miami, Alabama, Georgia Tech, and Wisconsin," he said. "Florida has a great program going right now. Miami is close to home and I like what Coach Shannon is doing there. The biggest thing for me that I'll be looking for is the graduation rates for the schools."
