Burrell Adds First Offer
Charles Burrell, a 6-foot, 195-pound athlete could play quarterback or wide receiver at the next level. This year he made the switch from wide receiver to quarterback for the good of his team, but the sacrifice turned into a blessing, showing his versatility on offense. This week, he picked up his first offer. "Charles was offered by Michigan State recently," Burrell's father explained. "From what we know more could definitely be on the way soon, but they're not in writing yet." "I was at Michigan State for junior day and really liked the facilities," Burrell said. "The campus was also very, very nice and they are a great school academically. From seeing what they offer, I don't see how anyone could go there and not do well. I plan to major in architecture or engineering and would have both available to me." Burrell has also been contacted heavily by Michigan, Notre Dame, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), Bowling Green, UCLA and Minnesota recently and expects offers from some of them. As a junior, Burrell three for 1552 yards, rushed for 419 more and scored 24 total touchdowns, with 17 coming through the air. He also made one interception that he returned for a touchdown and kicked 14 extra points. He was named second-team All-City and honorable mention All-State.
