Harrisburg High School is always home to some of the top talent in Pennsylvania and this year's crop…
Focus '08: Brandon Ware
Brandon Ware, a 6-foot-4, 340-pound defensive tackle from Harrisburg, Pa., is an imposing force at the point of attack. While he admittedly has some work to do in terms of quickness and footwork, Ware's huge frame will be an easy draw for college recruiters. "Right now I get the majority of my mail from Boston College, Temple, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Penn State and Connecticut," Ware stated. "Out of those schools I've only talked to a few, but I have interest in all of them." "A dude from my neighborhood named Danny Lansanah played linebacker at Connecticut and told me the campus is really nice and that he liked it there," Ware said. "Coach (Matt) Cersosimo and I talked and told me to keep working on getting my grades up which I need to do because I was only at a 2.3 GPA last marking period." "I get a lot of mail from Penn State right now just telling me about their program. I haven't been there for a football related event, but I have visited the campus and really liked it. The atmosphere there is really good because football is the dominant sport at Penn State. I really watched them a lot this year and saw that they have smaller defensive tackles, so I could lose weight and work on my footwork and agility if they wanted me to. I really like how guys like Scott Paxson, Ed Johnson and Jay Alford play there." As a junior, Ware netting 45 tackles, 8 sacks, a fumble recovery and deflected two passes.
