Georgia Lineman Hearing from Several
"Not as much as I would like to get," Eric Grube explained. "I'm getting letters, but no offers." Grube previously listed Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Georgia Tech all with moderate interest, but Grube re-furbished his list when we talked. Georgia Tech and Alabama were removed and Boston College and LSU put in their places. "I am hearing from all of those schools," Grube said. "I like the Auburn coaches. That's the only place I've visited. As far as the other colleges I like them because of the stuff I've been getting in the mail, and the research I've done on them on the internet." Grube talked of his playing position, "I only played one game at defensive tackle. I play strongside guard on the offensive line." "Our team made it to the second round of the play-offs this year (2006) and lost to Roswell. Next year, I think our offense is looking good with the returners. We are losing a lot of defensive people." Grube benches 430-pounds and squats in the 450 range. He is 6-1.5, 275-pounds. "I'm real aggressive," Grube said describing his play. "I'm strong. I have the ability to knock people off the line. I have good vision. I'm good at both run and pass blocking, but I like run blocking." That's a good thing because we asked if his school has a good running game, Grube replied, "That's all they do." Scout.com asked what sparked his interest in football. "I just grew up watching it on television," he said. "I'm a Notre Dame fan, but I haven't heard from them." Between spring and summer drills Grube will work out at CES and do the school work-outs. "I don't play other sports. I just play football and do weightlifting," he said. "I'm a good leader. I'm dedicated and will just do what it takes." Stay with Scout.com as we continue to track the recruitment of Brookwood's Eric Grube.
