Jay Tolliver Receives Interest
Jay Tolliver, a 6-foot-0, 205-pound fullback / linebacker from Mansfield Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas has been receiving some serious recruiting interest. "LSU, Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma are the schools that are showing me the most interest," Tolliver informed. "I have been to junior days at Texas and LSU." "The Texas junior day was a great experience. "It was my first time to see all of their facilities and seeing what they have on campus. The weight room was really nice. Me and my family had a great time." "Coach (Mack) Brown was real open about the whole process, and he was very cool and truthful. He said the facts. He did not tell you what you want to hear, but he told you the truth about what he thought about your game and where you are with Texas." "The LSU junior day was a real different experience from Texas. It was a chance to look at a different state, and see how they do things at their program. They had some different facilities, and they were all nice. I really like LSU a lot. I am going to go back down in March for another unofficial visit." Tolliver plays linebacker and fullback for Timberview, but most colleges are recruiting him to play offense. "They are all looking at me as a fullback right now," Tolliver said. "On my film they have only seen a taste of what I can do on defense at linebacker. I hope to prove that I can play some linebacker, but I want to play wherever I am needed the most." "I think my work ethic really sets me apart. I am not a highly publicized recruit, so I know that I have to be a workhorse on the field and in the weight room." As a junior, Tolliver rushed for 528 yards and scored a total of 14 touchdowns to earn Second Team All-District honors. He was also an Academic All-District selection.
