Two sport star lands first offer
Linebackers like Gary Mason from Waxahachie, Texas are a rare breed. Tall, lean, fast and athletic and also a basketball prospect, Mason is recently picked up his first scholarship offer. "Baylor offered me late last week I think it was," Mason said. "They offered me in football only. Texas, Oklahoma State and Iowa State have also shown me a lot of interest." The 6-foot-5, 211-pound Mason plays AAU basketball and travels almost every weekend. "I haven't been able to go to any junior days or anything really because of basketball," Mason said. "I will check them out at some point, but I haven't been able to yet." Mason is open to the idea of playing both sports in college. "I would like to go somewhere that will give me the opportunity to play both sports," Mason said. "I would also like to stay close to home if I could. I am really open to every school right now."
