Keola Antolin is a 5-foot-7.5, 186 pound Hawaiian living in Las Vegas. He was born in Honolulu and lived there for seven years, and although he now plays for Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas (Nev.), he says he wouldn’t mind moving back to the islands.
"All my family is over there," Antolin said. "I love the culture in Hawaii. The food, the people, the whole environment is amazing. They have a great offense and did really good last season."
The Warriors lead solidly over California, Iowa, Arizona and UCLA, but they haven't offered him yet. Neither the Bruins, nor the Bears have offered either. "Cal has a great offense every year," Antolin said. "They are always near the top of the Pac-10 and they produce great running backs."
His first scholarship offer was from Iowa in February. "The coaches are really easy to talk to and seem more like friends with their players. They have a great relationship."
Antolin says he's like to go to a few camps this summer, but doesn't have anything set yet.
"I don't really know much about Arizona, but they've offered me so I'll check them out," Antolin. "I know they have new coaches and have been improving.
"It's really early and I'm just gonna take my visits and see if I like the campus and the coaches and I'll just take it from there."
Antolin benches 315 pounds, squats 500 pounds, has a 37-inch vertical jump and runs a 4.5 forty.
"I'm quick, explosive and elusive," he said. "I'm hard to catch and am really powerful too. I'm a very hard worker and I have good agility too.
"I need to work on finding the open hole faster and reading the linebackers better."
Antolin reports a 3.0 core GPA and is waiting his SAT results.
