Zack Stoudt, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound quarterback from Coffman High in Dublin, Ohio has had a first hand look at what it takes to succeed in collegiate level and pro level football. You see his father, Cliff Stoudt, was drafted in 1977 by the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent 15 years playing quarterback in the NFL.
“I definitely look up to my father a whole lot,” Stoudt said of their relationship. “He pushes me real hard, but it is in exactly the right kind of way. I would say that I try to pattern my game and myself after him. He knows what it takes to be successful.”
You might not yet know his name, but the Coffman receivers are looking forward to catching Stoudt’s balls this year. He is under the radar because last year was his first year at the school, and he was playing behind senior Zak Kristan.
“Last year was actually my experience really getting to play quarterback,” Stoudt explained. “I decided to get some extra reps in a JV game and ended up with a slight tear in my MCL.”
His injury and limited repetitions have not stopped colleges from noticing Stoudt’s potential.
“Coach Crabtree (Coffman Head Coach) has dome a great job helping me get exposure so far,” Stoudt began. “I have also been sending film out to a lot of schools. They definitely like my size on my bio and notice my arm strength.”
“I just talked to Nick Saban at Alabama the last Friday. They sent a text message and I called them back. They are really interested in me.”
“I have also been talking with Tennessee,” he continued. “I am going to be going down there on spring break to meet the coaching staff. I am really excited about that trip.”
“I am also hearing a lot from Louisville, Miami (Oh), Marshall and Michigan State.”
