Jeremy recently placed 6th out of 1,100 plus prospects
in the Nike Spark competition. Longo ran a 4.65 forty, turned in a 34" vertical,
and benched 185 pounds 20 times.
The 2006 1st Team All-Broward county selection
thinks he can do even better this upcoming season.
"I am going to
get upfield, come off the edge a little better. Last season my coaches did not
let come off the edge as much as I will this year. I should be putting up some
better numbers," added Jeremy Longo.
The 6' 4 1/2", 225 pound
end pointed out his strengths.
"I am explosive and quick off the ball
in pass rushing situations. But I am not bad against the run either."
Jeremy
has seen his scholarship offer grow to 9 in recent weeks.
"Iowa
offered me yesterday, and Ole Miss offered me on Wednesday. South Carolina, Kentucky,
Wisconsin, UConn, and Central Florida have also offered me."
Which
colleges are the most consistent in their recruitment with Longo?
"Mainly
all of them. I talk to Wisconsin, Pitt, UCF, and just about everyday somebody
else is texting me telling me to call them. South Carolina, Ole Miss; I am just
starting to build some relationships."
Has Jeremy had a chance to
speak with any of the head coaches?
"Wisconsin's head coach has talked
to me a few times. I was suppose to talk with Pitt's head coach but we never made contact. I have also spoken with the head coaches at UCF and
UConn."
Which colleges have caught Longo's eye?
"I am
still undecided. I am taking some unofficial visits to UCF (4/7), South Carolina
(4/14), and Wisconsin (4/21) for their Spring games. I plan on visiting Pitt,
Maryland, and Ole Miss too. I want to see all of the schools who have offered
me so I can narrow it down and go with the school I feel the most comfortable
with."
