Van Nuys (Calif.) Birmingham tight end Mychal Rivera (6-3, 215) came on strong for the Patriots in their quest for the City Section title.

A big part of running back Milton Knox's 2000-yard season, Rivera also flashed some good hands and athleticism from his tight end spot.

Rivera finished with 21 catches for 203 yards in the ground-oriented Patriots offense and is poised for a big senior year.
