Dustin Coker Talks LSU Visit
"I put on quite a bit of weight real fast, so I'm working on speed now," Dustin Coker said. Coker checks in at 6-2, and has put on 14 pounds since last season, weighing in at 208, with a 4.6 40-yard dash. Coker, who was named to the first team All-District and first team All-State team, leads the state of Louisiana with 215 tackles. He lists Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Duke, Louisiana Tech, ULM, and Northwestern as his college interests with LSU and ULM as favorites. He made an unofficial visit to LSU and had this to say, "I loved the campus and the agriculture engineering department was great." Coker wants to major in physical education with a minor in petroleum engineering. Of the upcoming LSU season, Coker said, "Their guys always step-up, and they have great recruiting. They have good guys every year." About playing in college, he had this to offer, "I won't mind if I red-shirt. That way I get the feel of it and get to see what everyone else is doing. That way I'm sure I will be ready to play at the next level." Coker, whose grandfather played at Notre Dame, carries a 3.0 GPA and plays baseball and runs track. "I am a great leader. Since I was a freshman I have always stepped up. On the football field, on the baseball diamond, on the track and especially in the classroom. I have always been a leader through everything," Coker concluded. Stay tuned to Scout.com as we continue to track the recruiting process for Dustin Coker.
