"I
was named All-State in basketball," added Michael McAdoo. "I averaged
18 points and 12 rebounds a game, but my best sport is football."
The
6' 7", 220 pounder collected 36 tackles, 13 sacks, 4 knockdowns, and 12 tackles
from the behind the line of scrimmage for 5A Antioch last season. He was also
named All-State in football.
"I think my first step off of the ball
gives me an advantage over my opponents. It is hard to get a hand on me because
I am so quick off of the ball."
Who are the main colleges involved
in Michael's recruitment?
"I have offers from Vandy, Ole Miss, Kentucky,
MTSU, and the main ones that are recruiting me who have not offered me are Tennessee,
South Carolina, and Notre Dame."
Who is coming after McAdoo the hardest?
"Ole
Miss. They are calling, texting, just about everyday. I went to a visit down there
for their Spring game. We toured the campus, and they showed us what it is like
being an every day student around there. They also told us about what it is like
on game day, what the practices would be like, and the set up for our classes
and tutors. I was very impressed with Ole Miss."
What impressed Michael
the most?
"When they told me that they can not promise me I will make
it to the pros, but they can promise me I would graduate. It made me feel like
that this is the school I want to go to. I know my mother was also very happy
with that too. She liked it a lot down there. They are definitely my leader right
now."
Has Michael had a chance to take in anymore visits?
"I
went to Vandy's Spring game and a real football game of Kentucky' s last fall.
Vandy was real cool. They have a nice little campus. I would put Ole Miss in front
of Vandy though. But that is just me."
And Kentucky?
"I
liked Kentucky. They come and visit me every offseason. I like that about them.
They have some nice facilities up there too."
Who else is Michael
interested in?
"Georgia. I just like the way they play. I am supposed
to go down there for a visit, but it got canceled at the last minute. I am going
to go over there though this summer to check it out, for sure."
Where
does Tennessee stand?
"If I had to choose a Top 5; they would be in
the Top 3 with Ole Miss and Vandy. I like their coaches, especially Coach Chandler.
I think that is his name. He is a real laid back guy."
Who else would
round out Michael's Top 5?
"Georgia and Notre Dame."
Who
does McAdoo feel like is closest to offering him next?
"Notre Dame."
When
it comes decision time; what will be the main factors?
"The most
important thing to me is playing as a freshman. I want to go to the place I can
make the quickest impact."
McAdoo reports a 3.5 GPA.
