Colleges have taken notice.
"Ole Miss, Southern Mississippi, Mississippi State, LSU, and West Virginia came by
to see me practice last week," added Ramon Blakeney.
Anything new
Ramon show them?
"I have been hitting the weights pretty hard. I have
gained around 10 pounds. I am a lot thicker now. I weighed right at 215 for the
start of Spring practice."
The 6' 3", 215 pound linebacker has
been hearing from eight schools.
"Well, I have West Virginia, Florida,
LSU, Ole Miss, MSU, Arkansas, Tulane, Army, and Tennessee texting and sending
me stuff."
Are the Rebels still Blakeney's only offer?
"Yes
sir, but I think the rest of them are getting pretty close now that they have
seen me in person."
Any recent phone calls?
"MSU, Ole
Miss, and Auburn call me about the same. They get in their one call per month,
and then they send me text messages telling me to call them."
Has
Ramon built a tight bond with any of the coaches that are recruiting him?
"To
tell you the truth, I am pretty tight with all of the coaches. I am just going
to sit back with my parents and make a decision on signing day."
Any
Spring visits?
"I went to Ole Miss' Jr Day with my mother. I am
going to try and make it back to their football camp, and I am going to go to
Auburn's too, depending on my money. I am working a lot trying to save up for
the camps. Hopefully I can save enough to make a few of them."
Why
those two camps?
"Ole Miss, well, they have a really nice campus.
This time, I want to check out their majors to see what my choices would be. And
Auburn, I do not know too much about anybody but Ole Miss, so I want to see what
they have to offer. Their recruiter has been really talking good, so I want to
check it out."
