Nagel Enters Double Digits
Brett Nagel, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound outside linebacker from Lemont, Ill., added offers from Michigan State and Air Force this week and has plans to visit two schools over the weekend. Nagel has expressed interest in making a summertime decision and while he hasn't narrowed the field yet, he did shed a bit of light on where he's looking. "Things have actually been really busy lately because I missed seven days of school when I went on vacation to Florida," Nagel said. "I have all kinds of make-up work and tests from school that I need to get done right now and then I'm visiting Iowa and Iowa State this weekend with my dad. I did add new offers from Air Force and Michigan State thought, so that's cool." "Air Force offered about two weeks ago," Nagel stated. "I talked to Coach (Matt) Weikert on the phone and he told me a few things about the academy and that they would like to offer me. I also talked to the head coach, Coach (Troy) Calhoun. I haven't really thought much about the academy yet, but I know it is a great education and I will definitely have to look into it." "Michigan State actually offered today in school," Nagel explained. "Coach (Dan) Roushar, my recruiting coach, and Head Coach (Mike) Dantonio made a trip to my school today. When we were in the weight room they told me that they liked what they saw at the Maine South Camp and that they would like to offer. I visited Michigan State back in February because I had heard nothing but good things about it. I really liked the coaches I met there and the campus and facilities were very nice. They have top-notch competition every year playing in the Big Ten, and have had some great seasons in the past. I am definitely going to have to look more into Michigan State." Nagel has yet to name any leaders, but the Lemont, Ill., standout did ask for his seven listed offers to be Stanford, Purdue, Michigan State, Colorado, Northwestern, Indiana and Kansas State. He has also said he hopes to make a decision sooner then later, so this could be a sneak peak of his finalists.
