Hansoni Alfred Profile
"Mississippi State, Louisville, Southeastern, UL-Lafayette and McNeese State are the main ones so far," said Hansoni. "No one has offered yet, but some of these schools just started recruiting me."
When Alfred means some schools just started recruiting him, he means JUST started.
"Mississippi State and Louisville just came by the school last week, so I am just starting to get in touch with them," said Alfred. "They can't speak too much, so they left tapes with my coaches and a few sheets they want me to fill out."
Hansoni plays on both sides of the ball in high school, but he has dreams of lining up behind center at the next level.
"I love playing quarterback," said Hansoni. "I play a little safety on defense when they need me out there. I really want to play quarterback in college. I enjoy it."
For the past few seasons, Alfred and VPHS ran the Wing-T. A new season brings a new coaching staff which will also mean a new offensive system.
"We don't know just yet what we are going to run," said Hansoni. "We are waiting on our new coach to come in before we work on the new offense. Our old coach resigned, so I am not sure what we are going to run this year. I am mostly a pocket passer, but I may have to make some more plays with my legs this year. We have a lot of young guys on the line that aren't real steady yet."
The talented Alfred is hopeful he can make enough plays to lead his team to several wins as well as catch the eye of college recruiters from around the south.
"I would like to go to an SEC school," said Hansoni. "You get a lot of exposure there. There is very good talent and good coaching in those programs."
