DeMarcus plays football and baseball and put up some pretty
impressive numbers as a junior.
In football, the 6' 1", 185 pounder
had close to 900 receiving yards and 8 TD's while being named All-Conference,
Division, and All-State. On the diamond, Tidwell batted .623 with 6 HR's, 23 doubles,
and 5 triples.
Just what is DeMarcus' first love, football or baseball?
"Baseball,"
added DeMarcus Tidwell. My whole family played baseball. My brother, David Tidwell,
played for Alabama. It is just in our blood."
Does DeMarcus plan on
signing a baseball or football scholarship for the next level or is going straight
to the MLB draft in his plans?
"I want to go to college and play
both sports and get my degree. The (MLB) league will always be there. I will probably
sign a football scholarship with the understanding that I can play both sports."

"I know
for sure I am going to Ole Miss. That is really the only one I have set in stone."

else would DeMarcus like to camp, if he can?
"LSU and Auburn."

are the main colleges involved in Tidwell's recruitment?
"Ole Miss.
They have been coming by the school a lot. They have been talking to me, sending
me a lot of stuff through the mail. They are definitely on me the hardest."
Is
Ole Miss Tidwell's only offer?
"Yes sir."
What stands
out about the Rebs?
"I like their campus, and I like their baseball
program. And you know, it is just right down the road. I just like everything
about Ole Miss."
Who is closest to offering DeMarcus next?
"I
do not know, but I hope it is LSU. I just like them for some reason. And Auburn
has been writing a lot."

"Alabama and Arkansas."
