Catholic's Kaminski Named All-Combine

Joliet (Ill.) Catholic Academy offensive guard John Kaminski was named to the Scout.com All-Combine team in Chicago and the 6-foot-3, 305-pounder is working hard to get college recruiters to notice him. Kaminski just returned from camp at Bowling Green and he’s getting ready for an extremely busy summer.
“I went to
Bowling Green
for camp this past weekend,”
John Kaminski
told Scout.com
“I thought I did well and the coaches from BG told me I did well also. They told me that they will be keeping an eye on me and that if I were 6-4 instead of 6-3 that I would already have an offer.
“I’m going to camp at
Michigan State
this weekend. I’ll be at Michigan State on Saturday and I’m going to
Central Michigan
on Sunday. I also plan on going to
Purdue
this summer.”
Kaminski is the former teammate of
Wisconsin
bound linebacker
Kevin Rouse
. Kaminski has the Badgers on his short list.
“I don’t have any offers yet,” Kaminski said. “Wisconsin, Michigan State, Purdue,
Iowa State
, Bowling Green, Central Michigan and
Eastern Michigan
are my favorites.” He added.
Kaminski was brought up to the varsity at JCA at the end of his sophomore year for the play-off run and started every game for the Hilltoppers in 2006 at left tackle.
Look for Kaminski to move inside and either plays guard or center at the next level. John’s a barrel-chested, strong, blue-collar, hard working offensive lineman. He’s a down and dirty in the trenches lineman with above average speed and that’s what caught the eyes of recruiting-analysts at the Scout.com combine in Chicago.
The traits that I just mentioned are what college coaches will see as Kaminski hits the camp trail this summer. John knows that he has to bring something special to the table as college recruiters will focus in his height.
“I feel that I can play at the highest level of college football.” Kaminski said. “Some things are out of my control but I’m going to give 110% effort all the time. That’s what I bring to the table.”
John Kaminski is going to play college football but at which level? Time will tell and college recruiters will definitely be looking at senior film.
Kaminski is one of the strongest linemen in the state. He benches 370 pounds and he squats 650. He carries a 2.8 GPA in the classroom and scored a 20 on his ACT.
