Brandon Green, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound three-star wide receiver from Robeson High School in Chicago (Ill.), now has 13 scholarship offers, but insists he's not realistically any closer to narrowing things down than he was in early April.
"They are all pretty even right now," Green said. "I'll probably make my decision by the end of the year. I'm still open and just need to talk things over with my parents and coach."
Green, ranked as the No. 17 player in the Midwest by Scout.com, has offers from Indiana, Iowa State, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Eastern Michigan, Colorado and a couple others.
"I don't have any favorites yet," he said. "I want to play quickly and that's gonna be the main thing. I also want to major in computers. I'll be looking into their computer program too."
Although Green denies a leader, he said he favors Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois and Northwestern. He will be attending the Minnesota camp on June 15 and says the Gophers are recruiting him the hardest. "They are an up-and-coming program and I like the coaches," Green said. "They plan to throw the ball a lot more this year and they said that I'd be able to play early."
Green has already visited Iowa and Illinois for junior days. "Iowa is a great place," he said. "It's a football town and they have a lot of fan appreciation. I like the facilities and the whole experience was cool.
"Illinois is really nice too. They are recruiting really well in-state and I think they'll be really good next year," he said. "They are also an up-and-coming team and I like how they plan to be a balanced pass and run offense. The coaches are really good too."
Green reports a 2.7 core GPA and took the ACT on June 9.
