Three-star center Chris Bisanzo recently picked up his first written scholarship offer and is in communication with a number of schools at the Division I level at this point. He has spent most of his offseason trying to improve himself physically and plans to show the results on the field this fall.

Temple recently became the first school to offer Chris Bisanzo, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound true offensive center from Greenwich High School. The Greenwich, Conn., native has also been receiving interest from programs like Connecticut, Boston College, Penn State, Maryland, Princeton, Harvard and Yale and hopes to nail down a few more offers in the near future.

“Coach (Al) Golden and Coach (George) DeLeone from Temple both visited the school last month and then when I attended the junior day they offered me right there on the spot which was pretty cool,” Bisanzo explained. “I really thought the trip went great overall. We started off over at the Philadelphia Eagle’s stadium where Temple plays there home games and then went back to the campus to see that and the facilities. I felt pretty comfortable on campus and really like the dedication and passion the coaching staff shows. They are hard workers and it is very obvious that they really care about their kids at Temple.”

“I will be camping at Connecticut on the 25th of June for one day, so I guess it all depends on what happens there whether they offer me a scholarship or not. I would really prefer to play center in college and know they already have one committed, so we will see what happens. I’m certainly not afraid of competition and am going to go down there and work hard.”

“With Boston College I have been in contact with Coach (Mike) Siravo on a consistent basis and am going to camp there for three days this summer,” Bisanzo said. “Coach (Brian) Norwood from Penn State came in to visit as well when we were in the middle of lifting and told me he would be keeping in touch with me. I know they have an extremely limited amount of scholarships to give out this year, so he told me straight up that they would be waiting to see how I do as a senior.”

“Both Coach (Dave) Sollazzo and Coach (Kevin) Lempa from Maryland have been up to the school and I camped at Maryland last summer, but I won’t be camping there again this year as they know me pretty well by now.”

While speaking with Bisanzo it is obvious that his senior year is one that means a lot to him right now in many different ways. He has worked extremely hard in the offseason to become bigger, stronger and faster and plans to show both his opponents and his recruiters that he is a premier player at the center position. While he has only been offered by one school at this point, expect that number to grow relatively soon as true center prospects are tough to find and Bisanzo is a very good one.
