Arthur Brown, the East Wichita High School Star, will join fellow highly touted
prospects No. 1 Quarterback Terrelle Pryor (Jeanette, PA) and No. 1 Running Back
Darrell Scott (Ventura, CA) in the prestigious game.
"Its an honor to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl against the very
top talent in the country. I'm also proud to represent Kansas football,"
said Brown after he was selected to play.
"The U.S. Army All-American Bowl now has commitments from 70 of the top 75
players in the 2008 class from across the country and will have more additions
in the next two weeks," said SportsLink President Rich McGuinness.
SportsLink is the owner and producer of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Brown has climbed the lists of scouts and colleges across the country after a
stellar junior season. He finished up with 158 tackles, eight sacks and one
interception. Brown has the prototypical size of a collegiate linebacker
standing at 6'1 and weighing in at 215 pounds. The young linebacker is receiving
interest from schools like Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, and USC
to name a few. Brown is currently undecided on where to go to school but is
entertaining more than 50 scholarship offers.
"He is an exciting defensive player to watch and a quality young man. As
the premier defensive player in the nation, we are thrilled to announce Arthur
as a U.S. Army All-American. We are confident he will follow in the footsteps
and tradition of U.S. Army Alumni Reggie Bush, Vince Young, Tommie Harris,
Derrick Johnson, Adrian Peterson and Chris Leak," said McGuinness."
The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is one of the nation's most predominant high
