The Peach State is always blessed with an abundance of talent and this year is no different. Georgia bound defensive tackle DeAngelo Tyson (Statesboro, Ga.) is the top prospect in the state and he leads a great group of defensive linemen. “It is another exceptional year for talent in the state of Georgia, with defensive linemen leading the way including the nation’s top defensive tackle, DeAngelo Tyson,” said Miller Safrit, Southeastern Recruiting Analyst for Scout.com. “A total of six defensive big-men make up the top twelve players in the state, and a seventh could be on the way in Clemson commitment A.J. Harmon, whom the Tigers recruited as a defensive tackle as well.”

Mike Adams
It’s a banner year in the Buckeye State, especially at the tight end position. But it’s offensive tackle Mike Adams (Dublin, Ohio) who is the state’s top prospect. “This should be deemed the year of the tight end in Ohio,” said Bob Lichtenfels, Midwest and East Recruiting Analyst for Scout.com. “Five of the top fourteen players ranked in the state are tight ends Kyle Rudolph (Cincinnati, Ohio), Jacob Stoneburner (Dublin, Ohio), Kevin Koger (Toldeo, Ohio), Brandon Moore (Trotwood, Ohio) and Nic DiLillo (Madison, Ohio). All of them with the exception of Koger have committed already. Ohio State continues to dominate in state as they have landed pledges from four of the five top prospects including the top rated player Mike Adams.”
Averin Collier

In the state of New York, two skilled prospects rise above the others for top prospect honors. One is a running back and one is wide receiver. “Running back Averin Collier(Churchville, N.Y.) holds down the top spot,” said Lichtenfels. “The versatile prospect can play a number of different positions and that intrigues a lot of college coaches. Wide receiver Marcus Sales (Syracuse, N.Y.) is one of the best pass catcher's on the East Coast.”
Baker Steinkuhler Baker Steinkuhler
The state of Nebraska is blessed to have to very good big men at the top in Baker Steinkuhler (Lincoln, Ne.) and Trevor Robinson (Elkhorn, Ne.). So who gets the nod as the top prospect? “The top two talents in Nebraska, Baker Steinkuhler and Trevor Robinson are two different players, but they’re as close in talent level as possible,” said Greg Powers, Midlands Recruiting Analyst for Scout.com. “Robinson is a nasty interior lineman that dominates his man at the point of attack, while Steinkuhler's intangibles, potential, and flat out raw physical abilities solidified him as the top player in the state.” rankings.

Coming on Tuesday will be the preseason state rankings of New Jersey, Arizona, Indiana and Arkansas.
