Florida WR Discusses Top Four
Travis Benjamin is a big play guy. He, not former US Army All-American Deonte Thompson, was the leading receiver at Glades last season. "Now we're getting ready for the season doing a lot of 7 on 7 stuff," Benjamin said. "We went out to Texas a few weeks ago and won a tournament. We have one this weekend in Belle Glade with teams from all over Miami." Benjamin, 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds, has a nice list of scholarship offers and he talked about the schools he likes. "The ones I'm looking at are Miami, LSU, Florida, and Ohio State," he said. "I'm going to Friday Night Lights for camp next week. They haven't offered me yet." Prior to his trip to Texas, Benjamin had a chance to stop by LSU to check them out. "That's a good school with nice coaches in a good location," he said. "I'm definitely looking at them. Ohio State's a good school with good tradition. Miami, the main reason I'm looking at them is because of location and tradition. I can be like Santana Moss down there." Benjamin, who's not sure when he'll make a commitment, was asked what he'll be looking for in a program. "The coaches, the location, and the overall program," he said. Inside the classroom, Benjamin carries a 2.8 GPA and a 17 ACT score.
