Mississippi State picked up commitment number 14 today when Heritage Academy punter Baker Swedenburg…
Waiting on the Mailman
Baker Swedenburg Profile "Things turned out pretty good for me," said Baker. "I really liked how all of the coaches were real personable and everything. They make you feel right at home. This was probably the second or third time I have met them, but this was a little different." Swedenburg got the chance to put his punting skills on display in hopes of earning an offer from the Bulldogs. "They lined up three cones and had me work on my directional kicks," said Baker. "They ran me through those drills. They told me the amount of hangtime they are looking for and I exceeded those numbers pretty good. I did pretty good on all of it, but I can do better." The talented specialist brought his parents along for the day's events and the Swedenburgs came away impressed. "My parents went with me," said Baker. "They enjoyed everything a lot. They really liked how Coach Croom ran everything and about how he told us what he thought the future of a prospect would be at Mississippi State. We all really liked that." Baker got the chance to see exactly what his prospects are at Mississippi State and it appears the mailman will be delivering a very important document to the Swedenburg household in the coming days. "They told me that I would be a good fit for their program, but we will have to see how it plays out. State is on the top of the list," said Swedenburg. "I have not gotten anything in the mail, but I think they are going to send me something. They told me they are going to send me an offer next week, but I don't want to say I have been offered until I get it in the mail." Barring any unforseen circumstances, Baker does not plan on holding out and creating any unnecessary drama. "I will probably play the field just a little bit more just to be sure about things," said Baker. "If nothing changes I am sure I will probably be signing with State."
