Kendrick Cook Profile "I committed to Mississippi State tonight," said Etowah High School tight end Kendrick Cook. "The main reason I picked Mississippi State was that there was more there for me than just football. It is somewhere that I can get an education and there is a lot of things there dealing with a spiritual aspect as far as being a Christian down there." The Alabama standout got the chance to speak directly with Mississippi State head coach Sylvester Croom about his decision. "Coach Croom was really excited, but probably not as excited as I was," said Cook. "He seemed to really like the fact that I decided to come to State." Kendrick had originally planned to make a decision later in the process, but once he got a closer look at the Bulldog program he decided to make the call. "We considered the type of program that Coach Croom was running there first of all," said the talented tight end. "We considered all of the things that belonged with me committing to State. What I mean by that is the standards that are required to be met. My academics are very important to me." The personable Cook has already picked out a major and has plans for his post graduate education. "I am planning on majoring in physical therapy," said Kendrick. "My goal is to get my degree in three and half of years and then I want to start on my MBA." Cook marks the 11th verbal commitment for the Bulldogs and the sixth in four days. Kendrick chose Mississippi State over offers from Alabama State, Tulane and UAB.
