Bob Lichtenfels,

This has been called the year of the linebacker by many in the recruiting industry. With a number of high profile players at the position there are bound to be a few who get less publicity than others. Judging by his film you would never know that describes Steve Gardiner.

Dublin-Coffman (Ohio) boasts five players with D-I scholarship offers including Zach Stoudt, Mike Adams, Jacob Stoneburner, Trey Fairchild and Steve Gardiner.

In some recruiting circles some people feel that Steve Gardiner may be the best of the lot when all is said and done.

When watching Gardiner's highlights I was impressed. Obviously, his play at linebacker was the main reason I was impressed, but he is also an outstanding fullback. I would go so far as to say he could play there at the next level.

It's his versatility that makes Gardiner such a highly coveted prospect. Some feel that he could also play safety in the right system. Here are some junior highlight clips of Gardiner in action. You be the judge.
