"I didn't participate at the Illinois camp because I was just there to meet with the coaches and players," Brandon Green said. "They are great people and I like the coaches a lot. They are very cool with the players and have a good relationship. I like how hard they work and they are an up-and-coming program." The Illini are only about two hours away, but Green insists distance won't matter. | |||

Brandon Green, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound four-star wide receiver from Robeson High School in Chicago, Ill., still claims to have 13 scholarship offers but denies a favorite. "It's still really early and I haven't been thinking about it too much yet," Green said. He attended camps at Minnesota and Illinois and will be at Northwestern on July 27. "I didn't participate at the Illinois camp because I was just there to meet with the coaches and players," he said. "They are great people and I like the coaches a lot. They are very cool with the players and have a good relationship. I like how hard they work and they are an up-and-coming program." Green, the nation's No. 49 wide receiver and ranked No. 37 in the Midwest by Scout.com and, says the Illini are only about two hours away, but insists distance will not be a factor. "I'd like to play early and am looking at all their depth charts," Green said. "I want to see where I'd be able to play the quickest." Although he denies a favorite, Green likes Illinois, Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa and Cincinnati and he's visited all five already. "Northwestern has real good academics and I love their offense," he said. "They run like five wide and loving passing the ball. They air it out a lot. "Iowa is a nice place and I like their fan support," Green said. "It just seems like a great community and they have really nice facilities too." Green says he doesn't plan to commit early. "Hopefully I'll be able to visit a few schools during the season and make my decision in January." |
