Brandon High School junior-to-be running back Patrick Durr (5-10, 175) is showcased in this ScoutTV…
Durr Will Be One Of Mississippi's Best
Patrick Durr Profile "Everybody calls me 'Durrwood' because people compare me to Jerious Norwood," said Patrick. "I go to the same school he did and I wear the same number (3). People just gave me that nickname." Durr is not one to shy away from the comparisons and is hopeful he can live up to such praise. "What I do best is just run and find the holes," said Durr. "I can cut real good because I have good vision." Patrick took in one camp this summer and that was to Mississippi State. "Things went very well at camp," said Patrick. "I ran a good 40 and my vertical was 32 inches. I measured in at 5-10 and 175 pounds." While Patrick cannot receive offers until September 1st, he has a list of schools he would love to get an early offer from. "I am interested in Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Georgia and Tennessee," said Durr. "I would like to stay in the south, but it just depends on where I get the best scholarship offer from." Of those five schools, one school has been favorite of Patrick for some time due to his childhood friendship with that school's All-Time leading rusher. "I have thought a lot about going to Mississippi State like Jerious did," said Patrick. "I have talked with him some about it. He tells me to just follow my heart, chase my dreams and pray to the Lord that I make it." Durr looks up to Norwood for his play on the field, but Patrick is most impressed with Jerious' conduct off the field. "I met Jerious when we was in high school," said Durr. "He stayed right up the road for me. We have been friends since then. He is a great friend to have. He stays positive about everything and he always keeps God first."
