"I haven't been to Michigan State yet, but I've looked them up online a lot and they are rebuilding their field and improving their facilities and it looks like it's gonna be really nice," Ed Tinker said. "They pass the ball a lot and I think I'd fit into their offense well." The wide receiver said he favors Michigan State slightly over Colorado and Louisville.

Ed Tinker, the 6-foot-1, 188-pound three-star wide receiver from Brashear High School in Pittsburgh, Pa., now has a total of eight scholarship offers with his latest coming from Colorado, Louisville and Ohio. He also has offers from Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Iowa and West Virginia.

"I want to take my time and take all five of my visits," Tinker said. "Hopefully, I'll have a pretty strong season and will attract even more offer."

Tinker said he favors Michigan State slightly over Colorado and Louisville and those three have a lead solidly over West Virginia, Minnesota and Kentucky.

"I haven't been to Michigan State yet, but I've looked them up online a lot and they are rebuilding their field and improving their facilities and it looks like it's gonna be really nice," Tinker said. "They pass the ball a lot and I think I'd fit into their offense well."

In fact, Tinker says it's the offense of Michigan State, Colorado and Louisville that gives them an edge. "They all pass the ball a lot and that's good for me," he said. "I like West Virginia, but they are mostly a running team. I went to their camp and had a great time. I loved the competition there and the players seem great. I feel like I learned a lot and really liked the coaches. But I'm not sure how well I'd fit in because they run the ball so much.

"I think I'd fit in really well at Louisville though," Tinker said. "They are a great team every year and are doing really well. I love their offense and even though they got a new head coach (Steve Kragthorpe), I still think they'll be a top team again."

The school that is recruiting him the hardest is Colorado. "They seem to like me a lot," he said. "The coaches are nice and are easy to get to know. They are funny and we have great conversations. I really want to take an official visit out there and see what it's like."

Tinker says that distance won't be an issue, as he would like to get away. "I'd like to be in a new environment," he said. "As long as I feel comfortable there and feel like I can fit in, then I'll go anywhere. I want to find a school that doesn't just want me, but that needs me."

He reports a 2.4 core GPA and 740 SAT, which he will retake in September.
