Kevin Morton continues to receive most of his recruiting attention from schools around the Philadelphia area and recently attended camp at four programs. The Abington, Pa., native will certainly be depending on a solid senior season to earn scholarships and how well he does may determine which level he ends up at in college.
Abington High School signal caller
Kevin Morton
recently camped at
Buffalo
, Delaware,
Temple
and
Villanova
and is also hearing from another local university in LaSalle. This 6-foot-3, 200-pound quarterback has put up impressive numbers in two years starting for Abington, however his senior season will prove to be most important when it comes to finding a future home.
“I went to Villanova on June 10th, Temple on June 23rd and then Buffalo on June 25th for camps,” Morton said. “I recently went to Delaware as well and while I was at that camp I got a lot of interest from LaSalle, so I am going to visit there some time soon. West Chester has also been in contact and has requested film.”
“Temple camp went well as we started off doing speed drills and I thought I ran really well, although we did not get our times obviously,” Morton stated. “After that we went through passing drills and then Coach Matt Rhule took me and another quarterback from Southern Columbia named
Ted Heitzman
aside separately and worked us out. I was pretty happy with my workout overall. I have been to Temple many times before, so nothing was new to me, however it was nice just the same.”
Over a two-year span as starting quarterback for Abington, Morton has thrown for 3820 yards, 32 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Despite missing two and a half games as a junior with a separated shoulder he was named first-team All-Area and second-team All-League at quarterback.
