Greg Castillo just returned home from a three-camp trip with his fourth written scholarship offer in-hand and with a strong senior season, plenty more could arrive for this underrated Philadelphia prospect. He filled us in on his latest offer and talked about the two camps he attended recently.
With his newest offer coming from Delaware,
Greg Castillo
now holds a total of four scholarships going into his senior season. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound cornerback may not be done yet and if he has the senior campaign that he is planning to for St. Joseph’s Prep, he could end up in the double digits when all is said and done. Recently, Castillo made the trip to the Midwest to visit
Purdue
and
Northwestern
for camps and talked about how each experience was.
“Purdue actually went really well and they told me that they would be getting back to me sometime in the next few weeks to let me know where I stand with them,” Castillo said. “They weren’t sure if they were ready to offer or if they needed to see some of my senior film, so I am expecting to hear back pretty soon on that. I like Purdue because they are in the Big Ten and do have a great campus. Obviously if they become an option I will research them plenty more.”
“I didn’t get to tour the campus at Northwestern, but I did really like all of the members of the coaching staff that I interacted with and felt comfortable there which is always a big plus,” Castillo explained. “Both the defensive backs and wide receivers coaches liked me at each position, so I am not sure where they will be recruiting me, but they said they just want to see the first two games of my senior season and will know from there. I thought the facilities at Northwestern were really nice and from talking to one of the seniors I was told they have absolutely excellent academics. He actually told me they were just like an Ivy League school, so that was cool to hear.”
As a junior, Castillo made 50 tackles, broke up 17 passes and registered four interceptions.
