Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic running back/safety Louis Bland (6-0, 205, 4.5) was one of the best players in Central California last year, though he surprisingly doesn't have any offers.

Named the California Junior Athlete of the Year, Bland is also one of the elite wrestlers in the Golden State, and may do both football and wrestling in college.

Last fall, Bland was named the Modesto Bee's 2006 Player of the Year after leading Central Catholic to the CIF- Sac-Joaquin Section title. He also earned all-state underclass honors in 2006.

Bland finished the season with 1,876 yards and 29 touchdowns and returned 13 punts for 233 yards (17.92 avg). Defensively, he added 74 tackles and three quarterback sacks with two picks.

On the mat, he was the California State Finalist in the 171-lb class in wrestling and is ranked 5th nationally at 171. Bland is also a USA Wrestling National Team member at 189.
