Keith Wells, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound defensive end from Gainesville High in Georgia is currently rated as the the 58th best player in the Southeast and has been awarded a four-star distinction by Scout.com.
Today at a press conference ceremony that was held at his high school, Wells announced his collegiate plans by making a non-binding verbal commitment to Florida State.
Wells also considered Florida and Auburnconsidered in his final three, while North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Ohio State were still being listed.
In the end, the Noles simply had too much.
"They have the all time winningest coach in college football (Bobby Bowden), a great history, and when I was on campus I just felt like I was at home," Wells informed. "All of the schools are good school, but I can only choose one, and I feel like God put me here to be a Florida State Seminole."
Wells finished his junior season with 52 tackles and 12 sacks. He benches 295 pounds, squats 410 and has a 33-inch vertical jump.
