Scout.com's pegged Matt Hardrick as one of the top 10 offensive linemen for the Class of '05 coming out of high school.
After failing to qualify, The 6' 5", 350 offensive line prospect attended Hargrave for a semester and re-signed with Florida State.
That relationship is now over as Matt was granted a release from his scholarship at FSU.
"We do not know yet if Matt is going to go the D1 or D11 route," commented
mother. "He has been talking to Central Florida, South Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Ga Southern, Illinois, and Hampton as well. We also placed a call to Ole Miss, but we have not heard back from them. We hope to have a decision by the end of the week or early next week so he can get moving and get on with his career."
Will Matt take any visits before making a decision?
"He already went to Central Florida on Saturday. He went over there for the day and went to their practice. He is suppose to go South Florida and another school in the Miami area. It is not the U of M because FSU would not release him to play there, but he is looking at a school in that area. Some other schools like South Carolina and Illinois said they would just fly him in there for the day. We just want to gather some information on these schools, and decide if he wants to go the D1 or D11 route. Georgia Southern and Hampton are the main D11 schools he is looking at. We just do not know yet. Hopefully in the next week we will have all of this sorted out."
