Suggs makes the call
Scott Suggs to Washington (Scout.com)

Frank Cusamano of KFNS 590 and NBC in St. Louis is reporting Wednesday that Scott Suggs has told the coaches from Illinois and Missouri that he is verbally committing to the University of Washington.
Suggs' long-time association with the Huskies' Head Coach - Lorenzo Romar - and especially through Suggs' family, is thought to have been the deciding factor for the the 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard from Washington High School in the greater St. Louis area.
Romar coached the St. Louis University men's basketball team from 1999-2002.
“Washington, knowing Coach Romar is there and I know the players he’s recruiting," Suggs said to ScoutHoops' Dave Telep a couple of days ago, on why he was considering the Huskies. "I don’t get too homesick on trips so that kind of eased the pain a little bit but I would be gone for 4 years.”
Suggs is currently ranked as the No. 11 shooting guard in the country by ScoutHoops.com. Suggs joins an already very strong 2008 recruiting class for Washington.
Tyreese Breshers
, a 6-foot-6 power forward from Price HS in Los Angeles, Elston Turner, Jr., a 6-foot-4, shooting guard from Roseville, Calif., and
Isaiah Thomas
, a 5-foot-8.5 point guard from University Place, Wash. - by way of the South Kent School in Connecticut - have already made their verbal commitments to the Huskies, and plan on signing in November during the early signing period.
Suggs' commitment - if all the others hold up as well, and there's no current attrition from the Huskies' current roster - puts Washington at 15 players for the start of next year's season - two over the number for total scholarship players a Division-1 school may have on their roster at any point in time.
We'll have more on this breaking news later in the day.
