Livingston Talks About Recent Visit

Jamir Livingston is still being courted by a number of schools, but Army seems to be the one recruiting him hardest at this point. Recently the Philadelphia, Pa., native made the trip to West Point to take what the prestigious school has to offer and received some good news in the process. With his senior season still in front of him, Livingston will look to build upon that good news.
Jamir Livingston
will need to really pick up the slack this year after losing important players like
Chris Whitney
,
Jeff Battipaglia
and
Ryan Haber
on the offensive side of the ball last year at St. Joseph’s Prep School. The 5-foot-6.5, 170-pound tailback is definitely up to that challenge and is patiently awaiting his senior season, one that he plans to use to prove to programs recruiting him that he is more then worthy of a scholarship.
“Right now I am hearing a lot from
Army
and get letters all the time from
Temple
,
Syracuse
and
Rutgers
,” Livingston said. “My main focus at this point is on my teammates and my senior season. We have a lot of talented guys who left last year, so we need to step it up as a team and go out and get the job done this year.”
“I did take a visit to West Point and the head coach (
Stan Brock
) said that they were planning to offer me a scholarship during my official visit,” Livingston explained. “I am not completely sure when that will be yet, but we’re trying to nail down a game in September for me to visit. I thought the campus and facilities there were absolutely beautiful and West Point is obviously a very prestigious school, but I really need to sit down and figure out if a service academy is the right thing for me. I really liked everything about it there, but that is a big decision.”
As a junior, Livingston carried 261 times for 1502 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 90 yards on his way to first team All-League, second team All-City and second team All-State honors.
