Tedford Talks Commitment
Earlier today, Scout.com broke the news that defensive end Ben Tedford had given his verbal pledge to Colorado State. We had a chance to speak with the 6-6 220 pound Tedford and dig deeper in to why he committed today. Scout.com: Why CSU? Tedford: "It was always my favorite school when I was growing up. Went to practice last Friday and it just hit me, it felt right. I liked how they ran practice, it has a family atmosphere." Why commit now? "Curt (Curtis Cunningham) and I talked about it last week in the weight room and we wanted to get it done now so we could focus on our team and winning a state championship." What do you think about playing against Curtis Cunningham in the in state rivalry? "Going against Curtis and Ryan (Ryan Miller), that will be fun." What other schools had offered you? "Air Force, Kansas and Wyoming." Will you still take your official visits to other schools? "I think I'm done. This is where I'm going no matter what happens." When will you make your official to CSU? "I'm not sure. Maybe during the Cal game. I will try to go to all the games." What position will you play? "Defensive end or walk up backer, similar to what I play at Columbine. They have also talked to me about tight end." What do you bring to CSU? "Athleticism and they like tall defensive ends in their system." Will you red-shirt? "I have not talked about it, but I definitely want to. I want to get used to college and bulk up. Their d-ends are about 260." What do you want to major in? "Business but I have not thought about it much." What is your GPA and what did you score on the SAT? "3.75 GPA and 22 on the ACT."
