Teams like LSU, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Nebraska were all vying for the services of Guthrie quarterback Kye Staley, but in the end it was the Oklahoma State Cowboys who secured a verbal commitment from him during a press conference that was held earlier today at the high school.
At 6-foot-0, 200-pounds Staley could play safety or running back on the next level, but when he line sup for Guthrie on Friday nights he is one of the most dangerous dual-threat quarterbacks in the "Sooner State."
As a junior, Staley has rushed for 1,450 yards and passed for over 1,000 yards from his spot at quarterback.
So far in is career he has rushed for over 2,500 yards, passed for over 1,700 yards and scored 59 touchdowns.
Staley is currently rated as a four-star prospect and is the overall number two player in the state of Oklahoma by Scout.com.
