Catching up with KU Commitment
"Practice has been hot," Sean Ransburg said. "We are doing well though. We started two-a-days on August 6. We did that for seven days. We had our blue and white game last Friday. It went well." "We have a lot of young players on our team this year, but I think we are going to be all right. I will just play quarterback this year. Our coach believes only starting players on one side of the ball." Ransburg threw for over 1,500 yards and recorded 1,300 yards rushing during his junior season. "KU recruited me as an athlete. I am 6-foot-1, 210-pounds. They want me to play wherever I fit in. I would like to have a chance to play quarterback, but I want to help the team wherever I can," he said. "I went up there for their spring game, and I took a few more visits up there since then. I had a friend who went to their camp. I went up there with him, but I didn't participate in the camp." "KU has a nice campus. They got some new facilities. I like their coaching staff. They are good people. They believed in me and offered me early. I knew that was the place I needed to be." "I have a good relationship with the coaches. Coach [Ed] Warinner is my recruiting coach and position coach. He is a good coach and a good motivator." "I haven't talked to him recently because they have been busy with football practice. I like the way he runs the quarterbacks and the backfield." "I plan to go to a few games, but I am not sure which ones yet. I would like to go to the game against Missouri, but it's the same day as the state championship. Hopefully, I will be in St. Louis that day." "It's just KU for me. I have no need to visit anywhere else. It's final for me. I got some interest from Missouri. Arkansas State offered me. I think Tulsa was going to offer. After I committed schools backed off of me." "I am happy about committing to KU. I think a lot of weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I think the program is going to be turned around. They brought in good players last year, and I hope I can contribute somewhere."
