Glenn Harbin, the 6-foot-5, 235-pound four-star defensive end from McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile, Ala., has a total of nine scholarship offers and still denies a favorite.
"I don't really know right now," Harbin said. "I'm not going to commit early and I'll take all my time. I won't really have a top five until towards the end of the season. Right now I'm just not even thinking about it."
Harbin, ranked No. 78 overall in the Southeast by Scout.com and listed as the No. 23 defensive end nationally, attended the Alabama camp during the summer and says the Tide were his favorite school growing up. "I think they'll definitely be better this year," he said. "They have great coaches and I think coach Nick Saban will be able to bring them back."
The only other school that Harbin has visited is in-state rival Auburn. Both the Tigers and Tide are less than fours hours from his house. "The distance doesn't matter too much," he said. "I really like the environment at Auburn. It's a great campus and they have great fans. The rivalry with Alabama is always fun.
"I don't have a top five," Harbin said. "I've been to Alabama and Auburn, but I want to take other visits. Right now LSU, Florida and North Carolina are recruiting me the most. They seem to send a ton of mail and keep in contact the most."
All of the schools mentioned have offered Harbin as well as Purdue, Iowa State, Kentucky and Oklahoma.
Two of Harbin's cousins and former teammates now play for LSU (defensive back Phelon Jones and defensive end Sidell Corley). "They say that LSU is a great place and that it's easy to fit in there," Harbin said. "I like that I'd already have friends there and LSU is always ranked really high."
Although Harbin says that his cousins attending LSU is a plus, he says that won't be a factor in his final decision. "I'm looking for a good environment for football and to go where there isn't a lot of trouble or anything."
He reports a 3.0 core GPA and a 17 ACT.
